Mission Statement

Leafscale is a new software company with a retro-inspired vision to bridge new technology with past concepts. Our misison is to deliver quality software that is both light weight and scalable.

Retro-Inspired

Technology has changed and although many things have faded away, we take inspiration from ideas that may have been ended before their time or perhaps not seen the success they deserved because the technology was not ready. What's old can be new again.

Unix/Linux first

Our software is tailored towards Linux, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, and other Unix-like operating systems, including macOS.

Open or Closed Source?

We believe in the power of community and open-source. While not all of our code is open, some of our software is available in open-source format and we contribute to many software projects.

How did we get our name & logo?

Leafscale is a type of shark, known as a Gulper Shark. In evolutionary terms, sharks are perhaps the most prehistoric and highly evolved species on our planet. It is fitting that the software industry has evolved. The two words "Leaf" and "Scale" were specifically chosen to indicate our mission of delivering software that is lightweight and able to scale. We have selected our technology stack specifically to achieve this mission. Contact Information
